Throughout school she was involved in 4-H where she raised sheep, and then while in FFA she raised pigs and sheep.  She also competed in equine endurance competitions with her National Showhorse.  In 1999 Amber began working at High Desert Veterinary and received on-the-job-training and in 2003 earned a Certified Veterinary Technician license.  Amber enjoys spending time with her family, her 6 dogs and outdoor sports and recreation.

Haley, CVT

Haley was raised in Bend and has always loved working with animals.  She attended Central Oregon Community College for 2 years with a focus on microbiology, anatomy and physiology.  In 2009 Haley began an online veterinary technician program through San Juan College and also started to receive hands-on training at High Desert Veterinary.  In 2012 Haley earned a Certified Veterinary Technician license.   She enjoys spending time with her family and 3 dogs.

Mandy

Mandy grew up in the small state of New Hampshire where she attended the state university and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science.  After graduating she felt the pull of the west coast and relocated to Bozeman, Montana for several years before finally settling in beautiful Bend.  Mandy has spent several years as a professional dog trainer and is now excited to expand her knowledge into the veterinary field.  Mandy enjoys her free time exploring the outdoors with her husband and their three dogs.

CJ

CJ moved to Bend and joined the High Desert Veterinary team in 2011.  She has a special interest in wildlife and holds state and federal licenses to do wildlife rehabilitation.  Her patients are mammals and birds, with the majority being raptors.  As a young girl she always wanted to have a wild horse and she now has five, which roam free on range land in Eastern Oregon.

Melissa

Melissa has had a passion for animals since she was a very young.  She worked as a veterinary assistant for several years in California.  Today she has two cats, Sylvester and Mia, and a dog named Forrest, all of whom were rescued.  After traveling and exploring the western side of the U.S. she decided to settle down in Bend.  Melissa is very excited and proud to be a part of the High Desert Veterinary team!  She will begin school in Spring 2019 to become a veterinary technician.  When she's not caring for animals, Melissa has a wanderlust sense of mind.  If you can't find her getting lost in the woods then she's getting lost in a book.
