I have many titles, but being a mom and wife are my favorites. As a mama of grown boys and two dogs, there is nothing like the tangible memories on my walls, remembering the special relationship we share. To me, remembering is everything.

Here’s a roundup of my tips to capture beautiful holiday photos of your dog or pet with a bit of heart and a little less stress:

1. Let Them Run Around a Bit First
   A little pre-photo zoom can work wonders! Letting your dog run around a bit before you start will help them release some energy, and you might even catch them with that “smiling” expression that comes after a happy sprint.

2. Bring a Squeaky Toy
   A squeaky toy is your secret weapon. A quick squeak gets their attention, and you’ll often get those adorable head tilts or perked-up ears that make for the cutest shots. Plus, it keeps them focused on the camera, especially if they’re easily distracted.

3. Keep the Leash Off (If You Can)
   If your dog is trained and safe off-leash, try removing it for a natural look. If it’s better with it on, don’t worry—tuck it behind them or position it so it’s out of sight. Sometimes, you can edit it out afterward if it still sneaks into the frame with the right app on your phone.

4. Stylize with Simple Accessories
