Our Team is Growing! Meet Our Two New Veterinarians

We have been fortunate to welcome to our team two talented and compassionate veterinarians this year with Dr. Lemaire and Dr. Enyart. Both joined Dr. Post at the end of 2024 when demand for his time was especially high. With three doctors on staff, we have the depth of resources to go above and beyond to support our clients’ needs in terms of quality of services and flexibility of scheduling.

Dr. Jon Enyart

Getting to Know Dr. Jon Enyart

Dr. Jon Enyart relocated to Bend from San Diego this fall and is so glad he did. He and his family are enjoying the abundant outdoor opportunities, natural beauty, and recreational activities that Central Oregon has to offer.

Originally from Kansas, Dr. Enyart earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 1999 before moving to California to attend veterinary school at UC Davis, where he graduated in 2006. His career began with 10 years as an emergency veterinarian in several specialty hospitals across California, gaining extensive experience in acute and critical care.

In addition to his emergency work, Dr. Enyart is certified in veterinary acupuncture and Chinese medicine, which he applied while running his holistic medicine practice from 2014 to 2018. His approach integrates modern veterinary medicine with complementary therapies to provide well-rounded care.

In 2018, Dr. Enyart became the first full-time veterinarian for San Diego’s wildlife rehabilitation program, Project Wildlife. Over six years, he developed best practices, restructured operations, and led the team as Senior Director, focusing on innovative medical care and program growth.

With a diverse background in emergency, holistic, and wildlife medicine, Dr. Enyart brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at High Desert Vet. He is passionate about connecting with the community, helping animals of all shapes and sizes, and empowering pet parents to provide the best care for their beloved companions.

Dr. Holly Lemaire

Getting to Know Dr. Holly LaMaire

Dr. Lemaire started her medical career in the human medical field as an MRI technologist. She was just a few years into it when she decided to combine her love of animals and medicine into a new challenge. She earned her Bachelors in Zoology and then gained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from Washington State University. GO COUGS!

She has been practicing now for 23 years in several roles. On her own, and sometimes joining other organizations, Dr. Lemaire has contributed her education and training on behalf of the health and rights of animals locally and internationally. A country, a project, a team, a story, and a happy ending are the chapters of the book she insists she needs to write. Her personal mantra has always been “a day without an animal in your life is a day without the grace and glory of nature.”

Holly takes her responsibility for animal guardianship seriously. She prefers to use a holistic approach in treating pets, taking into consideration their individual needs, lifestyle, nutrition, and environmental influences. Her life and professional experiences are apparent in her approach to the job she loves and the animals she cares so much about.
